From the Salisbury Journal, first published Friday 2nd Feb 2007.
The Sarum Cycle by Nicholas Mynheer is a version of the Stations of the Cross that has been especially painted for showing at Salisbury.
The paintings will be on display in the Trinity Chapel during Lent and the first part of Eastertide.
Speaking about his work, Nicholas said: "For the last thirteen years or so all of my work has been on Biblical themes and themes from Christian Iconography. It is hope that I would like to think shines through my work.
"My style of painting and sculpting is very much a linear one. It never ceases to amaze me how the merest curve of the chisel or brush can capture profound sorrow or unspeakable joy in a way that words rarely can."
We are fortunate to have these pieces and I hope that they will deepen our Lenten and Easter pilgrimage.
