PAT Broderick is one of 50 people who will be putting his running shoes on for the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool this weekend.
Pat, 39, who is taking part in the 4.33 mile multi-terrain run, has raised more than £500 for the pool in Upper Stratton.
Pool manager Paul Charlwood is overjoyed with the support the centre is getting.
Pat, who has previously taken part in a sponsored swim and other runs to raise money for the pool, said: "They have a lack of funds and I like to do what I can for them.
"If they want funds they just have to ask me and I will try to help.
"I've been training for eight months and it was hard at first but you get used to it."
Pat first used the pool as a pupil at Crowdys Hill School.
Manager Paul said: "He has been supporting us over a good many years.
"He was a pool user and has done quite a lot of things for us.
"We have got a team of 50 people running for us in the various events so if people want to keep an eye out for the hydro pool logo they can give them a cheer as they go round."
Last year 12 people ran for the pool and Paul is pleased that even more have come forward this time round.
"We're ecstatic," he said.
"The pool is a little bit like the Prospect Hospice in that it touches everyone's life."
