GAZETTE & HERALD: AN unconscious three-year-old boy with a head injury was airlifted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance on Friday.
The helicopter was sent to the Oaklands area in Chippenham after the boy's grandmother called 999 to say the child was unconscious after he had banged his head.
The woman, who did not want to be named, was looking after her grandson at the time.
She had earlier seen the boy banging his head on the floor.
Paramedics went to the house in Ashe Crescent and took the child to the waiting air ambulance which had landed 100 metres away.
The boy was treated in accident and emergency before being examined by a consultant paediatrician.
Sgt Mark Gale of Chippenham Police said: "Following a request from the ambulance service police were called to Ashe Crescent.
"We were told a child had fallen unconscious. In circumstances like this we have to rule out any criminal activity.
"Having concluded the inquiries and spoken to paediatrician consultants at the Royal United Hospital we are satisfied that the boy has a non-related medical condition."
Sgt Gale said that the child has since been released from hospital and has returned home.
His grandmother said this week that the family were still awaiting the results of more tests to determine the exact details of the boy's medical condition.
