GAZETTE & HERALD: MATTHEW Waite, 26, of Compton Bassett, is going to run over 26 miles in the New York Marathon for the charity Get Kids Going.
He is joining 30,000 other runners from all over the world to raise money for the charity that provides general and sports wheelchairs for disabled children and young people.
The wheelchairs give the children independence and allow them to participate in many sports including marathons, rugby and tennis. It gives them a life of their own and a fantastic participation in sport.
Mr Waite said: "I really wanted to run to help disabled children and young people to get going. Especially those kids who can't even walk, never mind about run."
