Asians lead the way for the Division One title

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 4th Feb 2003.

THE title races in the Swindon and District Indoor Cricket League are hotting up.

In Division One, Asians have the title there for the taking with important victories over Swindon 1 and Wootton Bassett boosting their position.

Asians beat Swindon by 15 runs largely assisted by Swindon bowling 44 wide balls.

In Division Two, the title race looks set to be a two-horse race with Naglo 2 and Shrivenham leading the way.

Each have beaten the other once and will be looking to continue their winning streaks while waiting for the other to slip up.

As far as the relegation battle is concerned Wroughton 1 look safe but any of the other four sides at the bottom could go.

Favourites for the Division Three title looked to be Chameleon for some time but two telling defeats at the hands of South West Clothing and Litten Tree have dented their chances.

Star performances since the Christmas break have seen Julian Brown (5-18) and Ajay Kumar (69) in fine form.

Nalgo 3 should now avoid relegation while Faringdon appear to have the Division Four title all wrapped up.
