James Griffiths proved a real chip off the old block after landing a monster bream from Claydon Park Fisheries.
The Lechlade 12-year-old showed grandad Ian the way with an 8lb 2oz bream taken on an 8mm trout pellet.
Not to be outdone, Ian landed a beautiful 27lb 4oz carp using a 13mm halibut pellet fished over a mixture of particles and trout pellet.
The large amount of rain at the start of June has freshened up the rivers and the colour is perfect for catching fish.
The best attended Haydon Street match for some seasons, a 25-angler entry caught a mixed variety of fish mainly on the stick float.
Winner Alan Hambridge used this method to good effect to take a fine bag of chub for an 18lb 4oz catch. Man of the match, however, was Phil McKay who took a mainly roach bag from a shallow swim for a fine 15lb 8oz catch.
John Sainsbury was third with 11lb 2oz just ahead of fourth-placed Terry Ayres with 10lb 12oz.
