Reptiles are a hit at school's summer fair

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 25th Jun 2002.

PARENTS and children enjoyed the sunshine at Lawn Infant School's summer fair.

Friendly reptiles that the children could handle were the star attraction, and the magician was a big hit.

The school is not yet sure how much money has been raised, but plans to spend it on vital learning equipment.

A raffle was held with first prize as a week in a villa in Orlando, won by school governor Sue Berry.

Mrs Berry said: "The day was a great success, parents gave us a lot of support and the weather even stayed fine for once.

"We all want to say a big, big thank you to Julia Matthews, who organised the fair almost single-handedly."
