A big diversion

Little regard for the laws of the road (Evening Advertiser, June 17):
I am fully in sympathy with your correspondent J Davis, and I have no brief for drivers who deliberately flout the law.
However, I refer to the part of his letter regarding Wood Street, Old Town.
Now that the car park in Devizes Road has closed and the roundabout at Devizes Road/Newport Street corner has been removed and replaced by traffic lights, can someone please tell me how the residents of Parking Zone E can drive from Wood Street to their homes without making a diversion of over a mile, except by breaking the law or driving on private property?
