Spire beckons for man of music

SALISBURY Cathedral has appointed Tim Hone, from Newcastle, head of liturgy and music.
Mr Hone will be joining the department in Salisbury on July 1 from Newcastle Cathedral, where he is currently director of music.
He has previously held posts at Coventry Cathedral and Leeds parish church after graduating from Cambridge University, and has recently obtained an MA degree in liturgy and music from Leeds University.
Apart from his skills as a musician, he has considerable managerial and administrative experience.
Mr Hone said: "I am enormously excited by the opportunity and challenge of what for me will be a very different appointment.
"I love Salisbury and its cathedral and am looking forward to working in this new environment."
