They're off to see the wizard

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Thursday 21st Mar 2002.

THIRTEEN pupils from Corsham School are hoping to star in the next Harry Potter film after being chosen as extras for the movie.

The children, all aged between 11 and 13, answered a request from Warner Brothers for teenage extras to star in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is once again being filmed at Lacock.

Students nervously gathered at the hogfilm set with other hopefuls before being asked to read for the audition.

The successful group then appeared in crowd scenes.

Ruby Colomb, 13, of Neston, was one of those chosen. She and the others spent three days in the limelight although it is not certain whether they will appear in the final cut.

"It was all quite exciting. We had to sit around a lot then come on and go off stage. We were there for about three days of filming and had to take time off school," said Ruby.

The group is looking forward to see if they will star in the final cut.

"It was good fun and good experience. We saw the stars of the film but we were sat around quite a lot. We are hoping to be in the film when it comes out," said Ruby.

In the Chamber of Secrets, Harry faces fresh torments during his second year at Hogwarts.
