YOUNG historians at Key Day Nursery in Calne went back in time last week when they got the chance to explore three vintage cars.
The cars, a 1934 Vauxhall 14X6, a 1924 Model T Ford and a 1968 Bedford lorry, were brought along by staff at the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum at nearby Blacklands.
This month children have been doing a project called In The Past, and looking at the differences between modern day appliances and those from years gone by.
Nursery manager Tracy Smith said: "The children really enjoyed themselves. We have been showing them pictures of these old cars for so long, it was really nice for them to get hands on.
"I approached the motor museum and they were more than happy to help.
"It's been really valuable for the children because now they can appreciate what cars used to be like and see they're different from the one their mummies and daddies drive."
In return for the favour nursery owner Gillian Key made a donation to the motor museum.
Youngsters might not be quite so keen to get hands on during next month's project which will see them learning about creepy crawlies.
