A couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last week and raised £600 for charity.
Mildred and Colin Sunderland of Calne, asked guests at their anniversary party to make donations to Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Cancer Research UK in lieu of gifts.
Guests enjoyed lunch at the White Hart and a party at Marden House.
Mr Sunderland's singing colleagues from the Ridgeway Harmony Chorus in Swindon, provided the entertainment.
The couple, of Castlefields, lived in Bermuda for many years, when Mr Sunderland, now 72, was the island's chief fire officer.
Their wedding in 1952 was postponed twice. "It was arranged for February 9, but my mother realised I was still only 17 and said no daughter of mine is getting married that young," said Mrs Sunderland.
"So we postponed it, but King George died and because of the national mourning there were no weddings or christenings until after his funeral."
The couple finally married on February 16 in Yorkshire.
They moved down to Calne on retiring, to live nearer their children.
They have a son David, two daughters Ruth and Louise, and seven grandsons.
