From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 10th Dec 2002.
Innogy, the Swindon-based energy company, has won a contract to deliver a training course for power station operators at a power station in Vietnam.
The course is in Ho Chi Minh City this month.
Technical trainers from Innogy will fly to Vietnam to oversee the training of 50 Vietnamese technicians.
This is the first contract in Asia for Innogy since they opened their offices in Malaysia last month.
Paul McMahon, Innogy's Asian Business development director, moved with his family from Swindon to Malaysia to pursue opportunities in the region.
He said: "Moving to Kuala Lumpur is a great experience for myself and my family. My daughter is now settled at school here and we are all enjoying the Asian way of life."
Paul, who also worked for a time in China, still retains his house in Swindon and returns home regularly for meetings at Innogy's head office.
Innogy is one of the successor companies formed when National Power demerged in October 2000.
