Now shop will now open on two days

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 10th Dec 2002.

WALCOT community shop opened its doors to raise money and awareness about a rare but virulent disease.

To date there is no cure for Wegeners' Disease.

There are no confirmed causes although some sufferers and support group members believe that there is a link between Benzene, used in unleaded fuel, and the disease.

The event was so successful that the Walcot shop will now open every Wednesday and every Saturday with 70 per cent of the proceeds going to the charity.

There is also a collection box permanently within the shop if anyone wishes to make a donation.

Walcot Community Shop chairwomon, Joyce Grigg, said: "I will continue to open the shop to maximise the funds raised for this worth-while cause and I would like to thank all the customers and volunteers for their support."
