A PLANNING application, which was originally refused by Bradford on Avon Town Council, was expected to get the go-ahead from West Wiltshire District Council at a meeting last night.
The application for a pair of semi-detached houses in Frome Road, Bradford on Avon, was discussed at a meeting of the district council's northern area committee.
Developers Simpsons plan to build the two houses on garden land which is within the town's conservation area.
The town council refused the original plan, saying the new buildings would have to fit in with the existing Victorian houses in the area.
But now the district council planning officer says that although the site is within the town conservation area, the houses would improve the appearance of the area because of the removal of two unsightly garages.
The planning officer said there were now no planning objections to the proposals.
