A FORMER milking parlour/barn at Manor Farm in Chilmark has been completely refurbished with the help of a £17,000 grant from the South West of England Regional Development Agency.
The barn, which cost £68,000 to convert, now provides extra workspace for expanding timber window manufacturer Fairoak Timber Products.
Its high quality windows are used in hospitals and libraries and it is now looking to take on export orders.
Bill Sebborn, whose sons help him run the company, said: "We have been on this site since 1992.
"It has been a partnership with landlord Philip Kitson, enabling us to operate on a wonderful site with a most valuable asset space.
"Our workforce has risen from 20 to 25 as a result of this expansion, which frees up existing workspace and boosts productivity.
"We also have space where potential clients can view our products."
Manor Farm has ten business tenants employing about 70 people.
Sally Rackard of the RDA said: "This project enhances the environment, creates extra workspace for an expanding local firm within the Rural Priority Area and increases local jobs, with people mainly coming to work from the Chilmark/Tisbury area."
