WESTBURY-Old Bristolians claimed a 62-run victory at Station Road to leave Corsham still without a win and at the foot of the league table.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors ended their innings on 242 for seven after a remarkable final over saw Rowe take four wickets and concede six runs in the process.
With the score on 236 for three, Rowe earned the home side valuable bowling points as he claimed the wickets of Steward for 66, Richie Leonard for nought, Henley for two and Scholey for four.
Rowe's late burst was in vain, however, as it came after Palmer had made a century for the visitors to put them in a strong position.
In reply, Corsham made the worst possible start as opener John Gale was caught at slip off the bowling of Australian pace bowler Henderson for nought.
Although Mould and Holland offered some resistance with 38 runs apiece, the accurate bowling of Leonard and left arm spinner Young slowed the run rate and Corsham ended their innings well short of their target on 180 for six.
Purton travelled to Lydney and returned with a disastrous 150 run defeat.
With the start of the game delayed by rain Lydney began their innings 35 minutes late. Despite some excellent bowling by Silvanus with the new ball Purton failed to contain the opening batsman who put together a partnership of 187,
When Fear (81) was out, Knox (107) continued to punish Purton's bowlers and when their innings closed after 37 overs Lydney had scored a mammoth 233 for 4.
Purton's reply started slowly and was made more difficult after heavy drizzle at the end of the Lydney innings made the wicket damp. However Purton's batsmen failed to come to terms with the conditions and crashed to 83 all out.
