A bit premature?

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 4th Aug 2000.

Trowbridge has had its fair share of events promoters over the years. Many have dished up some great entertainment of different varieties, but less than a few have stuck it out for long, choosing either to move on to greener pastures or shut up shop altogether.

Recently, however, dance music promoters Agitato have been consistently supplying high quality events at various clubs and venues in Trowbridge and the surrounding area, building up a good reputation and an impressive level of support.

Under the Premature banner, they provide the type of entertainment that has been sorely missed in Trowbridge since the closure of Route 66, two years back: full-on and up-for-it dance events with a taste for the underground and a decent mix of House and Techno.

Agitato has been running for about two years, and along with the help Trowbridge-based lighting company Fourth Dimension, has slowly but surely cultivated an excellent alternative to the usual club chart entertainment that dominates this area.

The thing that strikes me about Premature is that it has given local DJs and dance acts a platform from which to offer grass roots dance entertainment. This is good for the local dance scene, as well as the DJs and dance acts, who otherwise have little opportunity to get what they do out to the listening public on home turf.

Premature's latest undertaking was to provide the dance tent at this year's Spotlight on Trowbridge weekend, a music-based free festival rejoicing in the title of A Walk in the Park.

It was a big success: the Premature boys managed to cram the tent with festival-goers and a great party atmosphere.

Following on from the park event, they continued to entertain the punters at Juice nightclub, with the awesome Sub Freq headlining. Tunes were also supplied by popular free party DJ Martian, and residents Dr Carter and Steve Large.

Their next event is back at Juice on August 26, and features Bristol-based Rhythmstation DJ Ridley, and a return appearance from successful live PA act Propulsion.

So if you're in need of some major dance entertainment, then Premature is definitely the one for you.
